On October 17, the Guangdong Science and Technology Conference was held in Guangzhou, at which the list of the 2023 Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Awards was officially announced. The project titled Key Technologies and Applications of Intelligent Software Engineering, jointly developed by Beiming Software Co., Ltd. (“Beiming Software”) in collaboration with South China University of Technology, Huizhou TCL Yunchuang Technology Co., Ltd., Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Technology, and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, received the Second Prize of the 2023 Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. Ying Huajiang, President of Beiming Software, Li Shuangyan, Vice President, and Zhong Guowei, Director of the Digital Intelligence Government Business Division, participated in the project as principal contributors. This achievement marks the fourth time that Beiming Software has received a provincial or ministerial-level science and technology award since 2015.
The Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Awards were established by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province to recognize individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to scientific and technological advancement as well as to economic and social development. Now in its 23rd edition, the awards represent the highest honor for scientific and technological achievements in Guangdong Province.

In recent years, China’s software industry has experienced rapid market growth, while also facing challenges such as a weak foundation in key core technologies. Since the onset of China–US trade tensions, China has placed strong emphasis on the development of domestically developed software, particularly in the industrial sector. Promoting the replacement of imported software with domestic alternatives and strengthening the core competitiveness of domestic software have become an overarching trend. The award-winning project, Key Technologies and Applications of Intelligent Software Engineering, was developed under China’s information technology application innovation initiative. It addresses challenges in existing intelligent software engineering technologies, including high costs, low efficiency, and high complexity, through three major technical objectives. First, it introduces a neural network architecture search method based on multi-objective and multi-constraint optimization, reducing the high costs of extensive pre-training required for software requirement text classification and overcoming the limitations of existing neural network search methods in meeting multiple objectives and constraints in software requirement scenarios. Second, it proposes an automatic software configuration approach based on heuristic complex optimization, resolving the issue of low configuration combination coverage found in similar methods. Third, it presents an automatic software testing method based on heuristic black-box optimization, effectively addressing challenges such as low program path coverage and the difficulty of testing software without source code. The technological breakthroughs achieved by the project have received unanimous recognition from the Science and Technology Achievement Evaluation Committee of the Guangdong Computer Academy. The committee concluded that, across key performance indicators such as requirement text classification accuracy, 2-wise combination coverage of configuration options, and program path coverage, the project demonstrates clear advantages over comparable domestic and international methods. Its technologies for software design, configuration, and testing based on intelligent optimization have reached an internationally advanced level and a leading position within China.

To date, the project has been applied in the development of more than 170 software products, including the ““Internet Plus” Government Services Solution”, as well as in the development workflows of domestically developed software such as DUBAI Smartphone Software V1.0 and 6761 Platform Smartphone Operating System Software V1.0. Its applications cover a wide range of fields, including smart government services, smart transportation, smart justice, smart public services, smart education, and mobile terminals. The project has generated cumulative economic benefits of approximately RMB 2.7993 billion, including about RMB 608.6 million in direct economic benefits, while delivering significant social benefits.
